A luxurious chocolate lava cake with a perfectly baked exterior and a warm, molten center. Perfect as a romantic dessert or a small indulgent treat.
Ingredients
- 60g (2 oz) dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- 50g (3.5 tbsp) unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 40g (3 tbsp) granulated sugar
- 15g (2 tbsp) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Butter & cocoa powder (for greasing ramekins)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Grease 2 ramekins with butter and dust lightly with cocoa powder.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- In a bowl, whisk egg, egg yolk, and sugar until slightly thick.
- Mix in the melted chocolate.
- Add vanilla, salt, and flour, and stir until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly between ramekins.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but center is soft.
- Rest for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and serve immediately..
